Mahurat Timing for Ganpati Sthapana : Ganesh Chaturthi 2011


Devotees of Lord Ganesh have already started searching about Mahurat Timings for bringing Ganesh idols to their homes on Ganesh Chaturthi.

Ganesh Chaturthi is considered to be the birthday of Lord Ganesha. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated to seek his blessings.

Ganesh Chaturthi falls on the fourth day after the new moon in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada. This is August or September each year.

In 2011, Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on 1st September 2011.

Ganesh Chaturthi is an important festival of Maharashtra and is also celebrated in other parts of India. The festival starts with the installation of beautifully sculpted Ganesha idols in homes and mandaps. These idols are decorated beautifully and show religious themes. The occasion also sees various cultural events being held every where, in which people participate with interest. After all the celebration, the time of farewell comes and the idol of the beloved God is immersed in water on Ananta Chaturdashi.

In 2011, Ananta Chaturdasi is on September 12.

Ganesh Chaturthi 2011 Mahurat Timing :

As per mahurat timings, it is suggested that you should bring, idol (Murti) of Lord Ganesha on chaturthi (i.e 1 Sep 2011) before 11.30 am.

Ganesh Avahana or Sthapana (installation of Ganesha) should be completed by 2.45 pm.

The most auspicious time to celebrate Ganesha Chaturhi (Puja) is any time between 12.00 pm to 3.00 pm.
Abhijit Muhurta (11.55 am to 12.15) pm is very auspicious to perform any work and it is best muhurtham to do Ganapati puja.
